Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant channeled the inner MS Dhoni in him as he produced exceptional work behind the stumps to get rid of Nurul Hasan on Day 4 of the ongoing first Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

Pant helped India take the sixth wicket of Bangladesh’s second innings with his stunning wicketkeeping. It all happened on the final delivery of the 88th over bowled by Axar Patel when the left-armer bowled a full delivery and drew the batter forward into a drive.

The ball spun away enough to go past the outside edge, and Pant showcased his quick glovework as he collected the ball and broke the stumps in no time. The momentum of drawing forward dragged Nurul’s back leg out of his crease. The stumping appeal was sent upstairs, where it showed that the batters’ foot was not behind the line when the bails were lit.

Pant’s work left netizens stunned as many recalled former Indian captain Dhoni, known for his lightning work behind the stumps. Speaking about the day’s play, India were able to stay in the game despite Zakir Hasan‘s sensational century.

Notably, India picked up a total of six wickets in the last two sessions, which came as a huge relief for them after the opening session was completely dominated by Bangladesh openers – Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir – who formed a stunning unbeaten 119-run stand, adding 77 in the session before the first break.

Eventually, Bangladesh reached 272/6 in their massive chase of 513, needing 241 runs more to win the contest. India, on the other hand, are inch-closer towards the victory as they need only four wickets with a final day left.
