Australia’s swashbuckling opener David Warner wrote an emotional post for his wife Candice and his daughters Ivy, Indi and Isla before leaving for Pakistan, where he will feature in the three-match Test series, starting March 4 in Rawalpindi.
Notably, this tour – comprising three Tests, three ODIs and one T20I – will be Australia’s first assignment on Pakistan soil since 1998. In the upcoming tour, the Aussie players won’t be with their family members due to security issues and other factors.
Taking to Instagram, Warner shared a photo collage with his wife and kids, saying that it is “always hard to say goodbye” to his family.
“Always hard to say goodbye to my girls! We’ve had lots of fun over the last few months, but now it’s time to get back into it for a few weeks before we reunite once again. I will miss you all soo much @candywarner1 #family #mygirls,” Warner captioned the post.
Warner is only a part of Australia’s Test squad for the upcoming Pakistan tour and has been rested for the limited-overs series.
The 36-year-old is likely to be reunited with his family in a few weeks as he will also take part in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which kicks off in Mumbai on March 26.
Warner and other Aussie players are expected to miss the initial phase of IPL 2022 as the tour of Pakistan will conclude on April 5.
The southpaw will be representing Delhi Capitals (DC) this year. DC bought him for INR 6.25 crore during the bidding process at the recently-concluded IPL auction.
