South Africa demolished England in the second T20 International (T20I) to level the ongoing three-match series at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Thursday.

Rilee Rossouw was the star of the night with his unbeaten 96, which laid the foundation for Proteas’ dominating 58-run victory in the contest. Riding on Rossouw’s spectacular innings, South Africa managed to post 207/3 in 20 overs.

Apart from Rossouw, opener Reeza Hendricks also shined with the bat, scoring 53 off 32 deliveries to help the visitors reach a competitive total.

In response, English batters failed to stand tall in front of South Africa’s bowling attack, getting bundled out for 149 in 16.4 overs.

Left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi picked up a three-wicket haul for 27 in 4 overs. Similarly, all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo also bagged three scalps for 39 as the tourists won the contest by 58 runs.

Notably, the hosts won the series opener by 41 runs, thanks to Jonny Bairstow (90) and Moeen Ali (52), who helped England post a massive 234/6 in 20 overs. The touring party did come close but fell 41 runs short of the mammoth total.
