Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid is celebrating his 49th birthday today (January 11). The cricket fraternity, including former and current players, extended their best wishes to the ‘Wall’ of Indian cricket.

Dravid is currently in South Africa working as Team India head coach for the ongoing Test series. This is his first overseas tour as a senior Indian men’s coach.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar extended his wishes to his former teammate Dravid. He took to Twitter and wrote: “A very happy birthday to you, Jammy. Wish you the best of health and good luck for the 3rd Test.”

Ex-Indian opener Virender Sehwag wished Dravid good health and happiness on his birthday.

“Wall Done always. Birthday greetings to a wonderful man. Wishing you good health, joy and happiness always. #HappyBirthdayRahulDravid,” tweeted Sehwag.

Indian star Shubman Gill took to Twitter and termed Dravid as a ‘wonderful human being and a fine coach’.

“A brilliant cricketer, a wonderful human being and a fine coach. Wishing you a very happy birthday Rahul Dravid Sir. May god bless you,” wrote Shubman.

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer recalled Dravid’s roles while being a player and post-retirment, terming him as the ‘Master’ of all trades.

“Captain, Opener, No.3, Wicket Keeper, ICC event winning coach, former NCA head, and now India coach. But above all, a great human being. Happy Birthday to the master of all trades. #HappyBirthdayRahulDravid,” tweeted Jaffer.

Notably, ahead of the start of the third Test, which began today in Cape Town, Dravid had a chat with broadcasters where he expressed that he received wishes from his friends and family

“When you get older, you’re not sure what to feel when you get wished on your birthday. But it feels nice. Did get a lot of wishes from friends and family,” said Dravid.
