The entire cricket world was in shock when the news of Shane Warne’s sudden demise broke out. The legendary Australian cricketer passed away on Friday from a suspected heart attack in Thailand. The Victorian was found unresponsive in his villa, and despite the efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.

Cricketers from across the globe paid their heartfelt tributes to Warne, including Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Notably, Jadeja had joined the Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008, when Shane Warne had shown his belief in Jadeja’s ability.

Jaddu, who smashed a tremendous unbeaten 175 on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali, recalled his stint when he played under Warne and also expressed his shock upon the demise of the spin wizard.

“It was shocking news. The moment I heard it, I was so sad, and I wasn’t feeling well. I found it difficult to believe that this can be true. When I first met him in 2008, he was already a legend, and I couldn’t believe that I would be playing alongside a player of Shane Warne’s stature,” said Jadeja after the end of the second day’s play.

“We were just coming out of our U-19s, and to share the dressing room with Warne was a huge thing for youngsters like us. He gave me a huge platform, and post U-19, it was a direct entry into the IPL,” he added.

Jadeja paid his tributes to Warne and mentioned that the Australian cricketer’s death also shows how uncertain life is.

“His death shows that there are no certainties in life. Anything can happen anytime, and this kind of news suddenly shocks you to ‘what the hell is happening?’ I want to pray to Almighty that his soul rests in peace,” Jadeja added further.
