Bad light has ended play at 5:30 PM local time.It was finally a day when Sri Lanka played better than England even though the visitors continue to remain in control. Sri Lanka’s improved show was largely due to Dilruwan Perera’s four-fer which helped bundle out the hosts in the morning session despite Joe Root’s 228 and half-centuries by Kusal Perera and Lahiru Thirimanne. At 156 for 2, the hosts still trail by 130 runs.

HALF CENTURY STAND:Lahiru Thirmanne has progressed smoothly even after the fall of Kusal Perera to help Sri Lanka past the 150-run mark.
