The mini-auction for next year’s IPL is scheduled to take place in Kochi on December 23. Before that, all ten franchises have to share the retention list by November 15.

Each franchise has been granted an extra sum of INR 5 crore, increasing their purse value to INR 95 crore for the 2023 players’ auction.

According to a report, five-times IPL champion Mumbai Indians (MI) have submitted their final retention list to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The Rohit Sharma-led MI had a dreadful IPL season in 2022 as they were the first team to get knocked out of the play-offs race, having managed to win just four games out of 14.

Though the Akash and Neeta Ambani-owned Mumbai franchise is known for backing their players, this time they were forced to leave some of their big names ahead of the mini-auction.

MI has parted ways with West Indies’ veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard, his countryman Fabian Allen and England’s left-arm pacer Tymal Mills, reported Zee 24 Taas.

The Mumbai Paltan on Saturday traded Australia’s Jason Behrendorff from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to strengthen their pace-bowling unit which was severely jolted by an injury to England speedster Jofra Archer.

Performance of Pollard, Allen and Mills in the IPL 2022:
