England have been outplayed by Australia in the ongoing Ashes 2021-22, and they are 2-0 down with three more Tests to go. The Aussies kept the winning momentum after registering a thrilling win on the final day of the second Test at Adelaide Oval.

With two losses, the visitors are feeling the heat due to their decision-making and selection process. The pressure will be on them to correct their mistakes when they play the upcoming third Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

But what should be the major changes that the tourists should make ahead of the MCG Test? Well, former Australia cricketer Shane Warne has come up with some suggestions. The spin wizard reckoned that the Joe Root-led side should make four changes in their playing XI for the third Test.

Warne asserted that England should include the likes of Zak Crawley, Mark Wood, Jonny Bairstow and Jack Leach in their playing XI for the upcoming contest. Notably, the visitors have been heavily criticised for bringing five pacers in the Adelaide Test, and Warne reckoned that England should include a spinner in their side.

The spin legend also suggested a change for the Aussies. Warne felt that Pat Cummins should replace Michael Neser in the MCG Test. Notably, Cummins was ruled out ahead of the second Test due to a COVID-19 scare and vice-captain Steve Smith had taken charge to lead the hosts.

“Congrats to the Aussies on a hard fought win. England have a lot to do heading to Melbourne as they are now 2-0 down. They must start by picking the correct team, including a spinner for the conditions. Crawley, Wood, Bairstow & Leach would make my team. For Oz Cummins for Neeser,” Warne wrote on Twitter.

The third Test is scheduled to start from December 26, and this will be a crucial contest for England in order to stay alive in the series.
