On Sunday (November 14), Australia registered an eight-wicket victory over New Zealand to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for the first time.
Mitchell Marsh played a ferocious knock of 77 not out from 50 balls as Australia reached the challenging target of 173 with seven deliveries to spare in Dubai.
The 30-year-old added a crucial partnership of 92 runs for the second wicket with opener David Warner and continued to attack after the southpaw departed for 53 (38).
Marsh was dropped on 68, but at that stage, Aussies only needed 15 runs off 19 balls to pull off the highest chase in Men’s T20 World Cup final.
