Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered their second successive win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 by defeating the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) at the DY Patil Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Chasing 194 for victory, MI batters Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma added a solid 71-run partnership for the third wicket to pull their team back into the game after Rohit Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh’s early dismissal.
Both Ishan (54 off 43) and Tilak (61 off 33) scored quick half-centuries, taking MI’s total to 121/2 in 13 overs. However, after the fall of Ishan, MI could manage just 49 runs in the remaining seven overs.
Tilak Varma almost takes down cameraman
In the 12th over of the second innings, Tilak took on RR all-rounder Riyan Parag with a big hit over long-off, but the ball hit the cameraman on his head.
The cameraman was seen holding his head after taking a blow. RR pacer Trent Boult, fielding near the boundary roles, was seen checking up on the cameraman and signalling at the medical team for a checkup.

Earlier, Rajasthan posted 193 for the loss of 8 wickets against Mumbai, but the most successful team in the history of IPL could only manage 170/8 runs in their stipulated 20 overs.
Star opener Jos Buttler smashed a stunning ton to help Rajasthan post a mammoth total. The right-handed batter scored 100 runs with 11 fours and five sixes.
After their second straight win, RR have secured the top position in IPL 2022 points table.
