The upcoming third game of the ongoing five-match T20I series between India and the West Indies will start at 9:30 pm IST instead of 8:00 pm IST, confirmed Cricket West Indies (CWI) in a statement.

Notably, the contest was originally scheduled to get underway at 10:30 am local time but it will now start at 12:00 pm local time. The game will take place at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts, on Tuesday (August 2).

The match timings have been pushed back to give the players extra time to recover as the second T20I, which was held on Monday (August 1) at the same venue, began three hours late because of ‘significant delays in crucial team luggage’ arriving from Trinidad – where both teams met in the series opener.

“Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed a revised start time of 12 pm (11 am Jamaica/9:30 pm India) for the third match between West Indies and India in the Goldmedal T20I Cup, powered by Kent Water Purifiers to be played at Warner Park in St Kitts on Tuesday, August 2,” CWI said in an official statement.

“Following the delayed start on Monday, the teams have agreed to start the third Goldmedal T20 Cup match at a later time to ensure that the players receive adequate rest and recover time for the back-to-back matches in St Kitts and in consideration of the back-to-back matches to come in Florida,” the statement added.

The five-match series is level 1-1 between the two teams after West Indies bounced back to grab victory in the second match by five wickets. Pacer Obed McCoy registered the best-ever bowling figures by a West Indies bowler in T20Is, picking six wickets for just 17 runs. The visitors had won the opening T20I by 68 runs last Friday in Trinidad.
