In the post-innings interview, Shanto talked about his celebration and said: “This hundred I dedicate it to my son.”
It is worth mentioning that this wasn’t the first time Shanto had shone in the Asia Cup 2023. He had previously been the top-scorer for his team in the opening match against Sri Lanka, narrowly missing out on a century by scoring 89 runs off 122 balls.
Bangladesh registers a convincing win over Afghanistan
As far as the result of the Bangladesh and Afghanistan clash is concerned, the Shakib al Hasan-led side secured a resounding victory against the Afghan team, winning the match by 89 runs.
