In the fourth T20I of the Canada tour to the United States of America (USA) 2024, held at the picturesque Prairie View Cricket Complex, the cricketing action unfolded with Canada opting to field first after winning the toss.

USA sets a challenging target for Canada

The hosts commenced their innings with determination, crafting a competitive total of 159/6 in their allocated 20 overs. Steven Taylor played a pivotal role at the top of the order, anchoring the innings with a brisk 39 runs off just 24 deliveries. However, it was Harmeet Singh‘s explosive cameo lower down the order that provided the much-needed impetus, as he blazed his way to 34 runs off a mere 17 balls. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, USA managed to set a challenging target for their opponents.

Canada, in response, embarked on their chase with a sense of purpose. Dilpreet Bajwa emerged as the linchpin of their batting lineup, showcasing resilience and skill to notch up a gritty half-century, scoring 52 runs off 41 deliveries. However, the rest of the batting order failed to capitalize on the foundation laid by Bajwa, with only Saad Zafar contributing significantly with a brisk 29 runs off 18 balls.

USA’s bowlers put up a disciplined effort, with Harmeet Singh emerging as the standout performer, claiming four wickets for just 18 runs.

In the end, despite a valiant effort from Canada, USA emerged victorious by a margin of 14 runs, owing largely to their disciplined bowling display and Harmeet’s exceptional all-round performance.

With this win, USA have take an inaccessible lead in the five-match series, with the last encounter scheduled at the same venue on Saturday, April 13.
