During the 2024 IPL auction, Punjab Kings (PBKS) bought Shashank Singh for 20 lakhs. Later, it was revealed that they wanted to pick another player of the same name and picked Shashank by mistake. However, this accidental call of PBKS proved profitable, as the 33-year-old all-rounder emerged as the winner for Punjab in their match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Thursday.

The Game Changer

Shashank came to bat when Punjab were 70 for four and required 130 runs to win; even though it was a highly intense situation, Shashank dealt it like a warrior and pulled off victory for PBKS by scoring 61 off just 29 balls at a strike rate of 210.34. The phenomenal innings of Shashank Singh included six fours and four sixes. The lad came not out after hitting the winning runs for his team in Ahmedabad.
