Each franchise will partake in a cricketing ballet, facing off against the other five teams twice, culminating in a total of 34 matches. Following the crescendo of the league stage, the symphony of competition moves into the playoffs, held at the National Stadium in Karachi. Overseas exodus: Challenges and squad adjustments

Despite the grandeur, PSL 2024 has not been immune to the challenges of cricketing fortunes. A significant wave of overseas players, including Tabraiz Shamsi, Jamie Overton, Lungi Ngidi, Wanindu Hasaranga and James Vince, has withdrawn, posing last-minute challenges for the franchises.

The Kings and the Qalandars face notable setbacks, with Shamsi and Rassie van der Dussen only available for six matches each in PSL 9. The Kings will also be without the services of England pacer Jamie Overton for the entire season due to an NOC withdrawal by Surrey. In a strategic move, the Gladiators brought in Bismillah Khan as a partial replacement for Hasaranga, who has limited availability due to international commitments. The Zalmi, addressing their squad dynamics, draft Waqar Salamkheil as a silver category replacement for the unavailable Lungi Ngidi.

Although Sarfaraz represented the Gladiators during the PSL trophy unveiling, the official announcement of his replacement was made just days before the commencement of the tournament. Rossouw, acclaimed as one of the most successful overseas batter in PSL history, brings a wealth of experience and prowess to the captaincy role, marking a notable transition for the Gladiators in the upcoming season.
