The Strikers’ General Manager Cricket, Tim Nielsen, expressed the team’s acknowledgment of the significant loss caused by Rashid’s absence.

“Rashid is a beloved member of the Strikers and a fan favourite who has been with us for seven years, so he will be extremely missed this summer. Rashid loves Adelaide and the Strikers, and we know how much he loves playing in the BBL, and we support him as he has treatment for this injury to ensure his long-term involvement in the game,” Nielsen was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

Despite the setback, the Strikers are actively preparing to address the challenges strategically. Nielsen revealed that the team’s management and coaching staff are meticulously exploring options to find a suitable replacement for Rashid. An official announcement regarding the replacement is imminent as the Strikers aim to maintain their competitive edge in the upcoming BBL season.

“Our list management and coaching staff will now look at our options for replacing Rashid for the upcoming season and a replacement player will be announced in due course,” the 55-year-old concluded.

Rashid played a pivotal role in helping Afghanistan secure a commendable 6th spot in the ODI World Cup 2023 standings, surpassing teams like England, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands.
