The much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 is set to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The mouth-watering contest will see the biggest stars of world cricket like Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam, Virat Kohli and Mohammad Rizwan in action. The rivalry between the two nations is drawing huge attention on social media, with cricket experts coming up with predictions and analyses.

Before both teams enter the arena, former India cricketers Wasim Jaffer and RP Singh have picked their India XI for the match. Starting with Jaffer, the ex-India opener went with some obvious picks in the batting order in the form of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav.

Jaffer could not decide between two wicketkeepers, Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant, but mentioned if Pant plays, he should bat at No 5 for the Men in Blue. He also included Ravi Bishnoi as the second spinner in the XI, with Yuzvendra Chahal as the first-choice spinner.

Amongst all-rounders, the Mumbaikar named Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. Jaffer also picked Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh as the main pacers in his playing XI.

Like Jaffer, Singh also picked a similar batting line-up and had no confusion in naming Pant as the wicketkeeper. Singh, however, tossed up between Ashwin and young pacer Avesh Khan. The former left-arm pacer went with Bhuvi and Arshdeep to lead the bowling attack and named Hardik and Jadeja as all-rounders.

Wasim Jaffer’s India XI:

Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik /Rishabh Pant*, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh.

*If Pant plays, he should bat at no.5.

RP Singh’s India XI:
