South Africa star Aiden Markram has etched his name into the record books by smashing a 49-ball ton and becoming the fastest centurion in the ICC Cricket World Cup history. Markram achieved the feat during the fourth match of the ODI World Cup 2023 between South Africa and Sri Lanka at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday (October 7).
It is worth mentioning that Markram surpassed the previous record held by Ireland’s Kevin O’Brien, who had set the benchmark with a 50-ball century against England in 2011.
