Pakistan have surpassed Team India in the latest released ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings following their clean sweep over West Indies in the ODI series on Sunday. The Babar Azam-led Pakistan jumped one spot to No 4 in the Men’s ODI Team Rankings after the series triumph, while India are currently at the fifth spot.

Before the start of the series, the ‘Men in Green’ were placed fifth in the rankings with a rating of 102. However, after completing the 3-0 clean sweep over the Caribbeans, Pakistan has reached No 4 with a rating of 106, leaving India behind at 105.

Speaking about the rankings, New Zealand own the top spot with a rating of 125 and 1505 points from 12 matches. England‘s rating stands at 124, and they sit right below the table-toppers with 2353 points from 19 matches. Similarly, Australia and South Africa are in third and sixth positions with a rating of 107 and 99, respectively.

Notably, Pakistan have been brilliant in the last couple of years, especially when it comes to the white-ball format. Barring the loss against England away from home, Pakistan have dominated on all comers.

Their recent few victorious include 2-1 series wins against Zimbabwe and South Africa. This was followed by a sensational home season where Pakistan defeated Australia when they came to visit the nation for the first time since 1998.

Not to mention, captain Babar Azam has been instrumental in the jaw-dropping success of his team. The right-handed batter recently achieved a phenomenal landmark as he became the first batter to score three consecutive ODI centuries twice (against West Indies), having previously achieved the feat in 2016 as well.

Pakistan are next scheduled to play a three-match ODI leg in the Netherlands, beginning on August 16 this year in Hazelaarweg.
