Team India defeated South Africa in the second T20I to seal the series a Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday.

After being asked to bat, India took off to a flyer with KL Rahul and skipper Rohit Sharma smashing South African bowlers right from the word go.

The duo added 95 runs for the opening wicket, with Rahul hitting a brilliant half-century. Before the opening partnership could excel further, the Proteas bagged quick wickets after dismissing Rohit for 43 and Rahul for 57.

India, however, continued their aggressive approach with Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli forming a dominating 102-run partnership for the third wicket.

Surya brought out full carnage of 360-degree shots to smash 61 off just 22 deliveries, with the help of five fours and as many sixes. Kohli also shined with the bat and stayed unbeaten at 49 off 28 balls as the home team posted a humungous 237/3 in their 20 overs.

In response, South Africa had a terrible start, losing their two wickets for just a solitary score at the board. Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram then steadied the innings and added 46 runs for the third wicket.

The asking rate was still so high, but de Kock and David Miller changed gears and cut short the deficit in quick time. The pair took the game to the final over but fell short of 15 runs to lose the contest. Miller smashed an incredible century while de Kock scored a fifty. Miller stayed unbeaten at 106 off 47 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes, while de Kock remained undefeated at 69 off 48 balls, with the help of 3 fours and 4 maximums.
